Prof. Wojciech Czakon
Jagiellonian University, Poland
Wojciech Czakon – Professor at the Jagiellonian University, the head the Department of Strategic Management. A researcher and expert in the field of individual (perception, trust, short-sightedness), organizational (coopetition, organizational identity, knowledge), and interorganizational (networks, ecosystems) determinants of strategic decisions. His teaching specialization is strategic management in MBA programs at leading Polish universities.
He is the author of over 250 publications in prestigious Polish and international academic journals (including Long Range Planning, Journal of Business Research, Technological Forecasting and Social Change), as well as the latest strategic management textbook “How Great Strategies Are Created? And Why Not All of Them Have to Be Great” (PWE, Warsaw, 2024). His monographs, including “Fundamentals of Research Methodology in Management Sciences”, constitute a key reference point for a new generation of researchers.
Principal investigator on numerous grants funded by the National Science Centre and the European Union. From 2014 to 2017, he served as Vice-President of the European Academy of Management (EURAM). Member of the Council for Scientific Excellence during its first and second terms. Recipient of awards from the Prime Minister, the Minister of Education and Science, and the Rectors of numerous universities for his academic achievements. In 2023, he was awarded an honorary doctorate by the Wrocław University of Economics.
